Switzerland International University of Economics (SIUE) hosted a highly successful international economics conference in early 2024, focusing on the future of global trade and its implications for international business. The event, which attracted leading economists, policymakers, and business executives from around the world, provided an opportunity to explore the evolving dynamics of global trade and how businesses can adapt to the changing economic landscape.Â
The conference featured keynote speakers from institutions such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and various global consulting firms. Discussions centered around trade policy, the rise of digital trade, and the growing importance of sustainability in global supply chains.Â
SIUE students were also given the opportunity to present their research on topics related to international trade, economic growth, and global business strategies. The university’s emphasis on experiential learning was evident in the interactive workshops and panel discussions that allowed students to engage directly with industry leaders and scholars.Â
Professor Andrew Stevens, Chair of the Department of International Economics at SIUE, noted, “The conference was an excellent platform for our students to engage with global thought leaders and understand the current challenges and opportunities in international trade. We are proud to host such a dynamic event and contribute to the ongoing conversation about the future of global business.”Â
